Arcane Realms

Arcane Realms is a personal game design project focused on building a modular fantasy card game system. The project explores mechanics such as hidden information, asymmetric roles, evolving decks, and strategic decision-making through simple but deep rules. The game is being developed as both a physical card game and a digital prototype, with a strong emphasis on usability, clarity of visual language, and player experience.

Challenge & Solution

The main challenge was to design a flexible system that allows for complex gameplay without overwhelming the player. I needed to balance strategic depth with accessibility, making sure that new players can quickly understand the rules while experienced players can still discover advanced tactics. I approached this by iterating on core mechanics, testing multiple prototypes in Tabletop Simulator, and refining both the game rules and card design through continuous playtesting.

Final Result

The result is a fully playable prototype with a complete set of cards, core mechanics, and visual identity. Arcane Realms is still in development, but it already serves as a solid foundation for future expansion, additional factions, and potential digital adaptation.
